I have made "Water Bottle Sharks". They are painted dark blue, white, light blue and black. The plank under the board is painted light blue like the ocean. The sharks have googly eyes and fins to make it realistic.
I used painting, cutting and gluing to make my pieces. I sort of suspended them with the metal wire to make them look like they are swimming. I cut out the plastic bottle to make the mouth with teeth. I also used a pedestal to make the sharks look as though they are swimming together in the sea.
I first thought that I was going to outline the teeth with blue as seen in the far left picture. I then realized that the plain white looks better to me so I painted white over the blue. I also thought that I was going to add fins made out of plastic but painting also just is more aesthetically pleasing. I felt panicked at the end when i was hot gluing because I was running out of time and the sharks kept falling off of the wire which made me barely finish in time.
I like my piece because it incorporates an issue, it looks good to me, and I used resources that make the piece look better. Making the sharks out of plastic bottles shows the plastic issue in our oceans. I am also sort of surprised that I made this because it might be my best piece so far.
